Address: 1095 Mt. Airy Rd, Stevens, PA 17578
Establishment No.: p09965

USDA Inspection Report: 19 Jul 2011

Code: 01C02
Violation: 416.13(c), 416.2(b), 416.4(d)

Citation: At 8:55 am, while observing empty tanks on the shipping dock, I observed two tanks with black specs of unidentified foreign material (UFM) inside of them on the product contact surfaces. These tanks would be used for product later in production; however, there was no product in the tanks at this time. I notified Mr. [redacted] Plant Manager, and he stated that there was a GMP to clean tanks that needed cleaning before being used. The tanks were cleaned immediately and no tags were used to reject the tanks. At 8:55 am, I also observed rusty overhead beams in the ceiling of the shipping dock directly above the product tanks.

Regulation:

416.13(c) Each official establishment shall monitor daily the implementation of the procedures in the Sanitation SOP’s.

416.2(b)(4) Rooms or compartments in which edible product is processed, handled, or stored must be separate and distinct from rooms or compartments in which inedible product is processed, handled, or stored, to the extent necessary to prevent product adulteration and the creation of insanitary conditions.

416.4(d) Product must be protected from adulteration during processing, handling, storage, loading, and unloading at and during transportation from official establishments.
