Citation: At approximately 0945 hrs while performing an 03J01 procedure for Zero Tolerance at CCP-1B (reprocessing station) the following non-compliance was observed. 1 chicken carcass out of 10 randomly selected chickens in the reprocessing bin was found with fecal material. The contamination consisted of a pasty yellowish smear inside the bird cavity near the vent opening. This is in violation of 9CFR 381.65(e). QC was present at the time of the findings. These birds are normally taken directly from the reprocessing bin and put into the chiller. The entire reprocessing bin was retained. Tag# B19929046 was applied. Product was reworked and rewashed. After re-inspection of the chickens no fecal material was found. An 03J02 procedure was performed. This document serves as written notification that your failure to comply with regulatory requirements could result in additional regulatory or administrative action.


381.65(e) Poultry carcasses contaminated with visible fecal material shall be prevented from entering the chilling tank.
