Citation: At approximately 0930 hours CSI observed the following noncompliance's while performing PBIS task 06D01 in the slaughter department area, during operations, I observed an open gap approximately four inches in length and half inches wide in one of the five U.S.D.A condemn barrel, prior to be used by plant employee, at the same time Mr. plant manager was touring slaughter area with me Mr. notified both verbally and in writing for noncompliance. Mr. immediately provided the following preventive measure and corrective actions. By immediately removing the empty U.S.D.A condemn barrel in my presence to disposal, Plant Manager was in the area with me, and immediate corrective actions were taken and since no product was contaminated, there was no need for a U.S. Rejected tag. .Mr. was notified of the failure to meet regulatory requirements. establishment fail to meet USDA Regulatory Requirements that 416.3(a) states Equipment and utensils used forprocessing or otherwise handling edible product or ingredients must be of such material and construction to facilitate thorough cleaning and to ensure that their use will not cause the adulteration of product during processing, handling, or storage. Equipment and utensils must be maintained in sanitary condition so as not to adulterate product. I explained to, Mr. that this is considered a non- product contact surface. But if not detected could cause product adulteration or the creation of insanitary conditions if allowed to come into contact with product, and could pose a public health issue if product entered commerce. Mr. plant manager giving instructions to the kill room crew to be more observant using U.S.D.A condemn barrel has holes or gaps prier to be use. and 416.3(a) This document serves as written notice that your continue failure to meet these Regulatory Requirements could result in additional Regulatory Enforcement or Administrative Actions as described in 9 CFR Part 500 - Rules of Practice.
