Citation: At approximately 0820 while passing through the processing room I noticed a two-wheeled dolly cart with 6 boxes on it. These boxes contained a ground, frozen, then band saw cut product, each container was full of these approximate 2" square cubes of "not for Human Consumption" product. Five of These boxes yet were still labeled as USDA inspected and passed beef chuck and beef top round, originating from . When I asked about this, he immediately took corrective actions by removing the labels, and new labels stating the boxes' intended use and contents were made and applied to the boxes therefore no regulatory control action was taken. Upon further investigation it appears no other product was affected
Regulation:
317.1 (c) No covering or other container which bears or is to bear a label shall be filled, in whole or in part, except with product which has been inspected and passed in compliance with the regulations in this subchapter, which is not adulterated and which is strictly in accordance with the statements on the label. No such container shall be filled, in whole or in part, and no label shall be affixed thereto, except under supervision of a Program employee.
