Citation:
On Tuesday, January 8, 2008, while performing unscheduled procedure,
06D01, the following non-compliances were observed: A 1 inch and a
3/4 inch brown roach were observed in the USDA office. A 1 inch
brown roach was also observed in the large red hallway adjacent to
the kill floor. Bobby Seugling was notified of the non-compliance.
Product adulteration was not evident due to the non-compliance. This
report serves as written notification of a failure to meet the
requirements set forth in 9CFR 416.2(a).
Regulations:
Grounds and pest control. The grounds about an establishment must be
maintained to prevent conditions that could lead to insanitary
conditions, adulteration of product, or interfere with inspection by
FSIS program employees. Establishments must have in place a pest
management program to prevent the harborage and breeding of pests on
the grounds and within establishment facilities. Pest control
substances used must be safe and effective under the conditions of
use and not be applied or stored in a manner that will result in the
adulteration of product or the creation of insanitary conditions.
