Citation: At approximately 0947 hours, while Dr. [redacted] and I were walking through the plant, we observed a pallet of 50 Pound bags of Chicken Pattie Seasoning staged in the hallway outside of line [redacted] Two of top most bags were ripped and the seasoning material was exposed. some of the seasoning material had spilled over the entire surface of the pallet. There were multiple, more than 10 pieces of unidentified foreign material within the bags that had the appearance of wood slivers. We also observed pieces of broken wood on top of the bags as well as particles of UFM blue in color and 1mm x 2mm in size. We took a regulatory control action by tagging the pallet with U.S. Retained tag # B 36279389 . Mrs. [redacted] Line # [redacted] Supervisor was informed and shown the non- compliance . The establishment failed to comply with 9 CFR 416.1, 9 CFR 416.4(d), and 9 CFR 416.13(b).

Regulation:

416.13(b) Each official establishment shall conduct all other procedures in the Sanitation SOPís at the frequencies specified.

416.4(d) Product must be protected from adulteration during processing, handling, storage, loading, and unloading at and during transportation from official establishments.
