USDA Inspection Report: 2 Aug 2011

Code: 06D01
Violation: 416.4(b)

Citation: At 0440 hours Dr. [redacted] SPHV/IIC, and [redacted], FI, were conducting antemortem inspection procedures in the live receiving area inside the establishment. They observed that the southern half of the floor was covered in a black conglomeration of dirt, feces, feathers, an other various particulates up to 1 inch thick in some spots. The north half of the floor had been cleaned giving the appearance that the cleaning had been started but only half completed. [redacted] was notified of the conditions and that they would be documented on a noncompliance record. I, [redacted] CSI also observed these conditions later at 0510 hours. [redacted] was also notified. I later verified that the floor had been cleaned and sanitary conditions had been restored. No product was observed to have been affected at this time.

Regulation:

416.4(b) Non-food-contact surfaces of facilities, equipment, and utensils used in the operation of the establishment must be cleaned and sanitized as frequently as necessary to prevent the creation of insanitary conditions and the adulteration of product.
